Our Ashland City, TN facility is our largest manufacturing site in North America at over 1 million square feet and with over 1100employees. We produce over 7000 residential water heaters a day or over 2.3 million water heaters each year at this facility which includes manufacturing processes such as fabrication, paint, furnace, and assembly.

Primary Function

*** This role follows the work schedule of our "C Crew" maintenance technicians and therefore will be on a rotating 12-hour overnight shift. Week A is 7 pm - 7:30 am, Wednesday/Thursday, Week B is 7pm - 7:30 am, Monday/Tuesday and Friday/Saturday/Sunday. ***

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing direct leadership to over a dozen hourly maintenance technicians with an annual spend of over $3 million in equipment repairs as well as a cleaning crew. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and coordinate activities of maintenance technicians engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment and in fabricating metal parts and tools. This individual will also coordinate activities related to Facilities/EHS. Departmental goals and KPI's include equipment downtime reduction, LEAN implementation, safety, and others.

Responsibilities


  • Plan, organize, coordinate, andsupervise maintenance work for the hourly maintenance team. Ensure all material requirements for the team to main equipment are procured

  • Manage the PM system and ensure the quality of maintenance records

  • Ensure that spare parts are ordered, stored and available when required

  • Coordinate and communicate tasks to workers for the timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of equipment

  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in equipment

  • Communicate tasks to workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, installing and testing of industrial machinery

  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date files that list maintenance performed, required equipment and facility

  • Develop maintenance work priorities, studies production schedules, and estimate time requirements for job assignment completion

  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices; report all safety and Company violations to Manufacturing Engineering Manager, supervisor, or HR

  • Aide in the review of serious and non-serious accidents, injuries, or illnesses and notify HR

  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties

  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals

  • Maintain and approve employee time sheet reports and production reports in supervisor's absence

  • Conduct safety meetings at specified and as needed time intervals

  • Confer with other leaders to coordinate activities of individual departments

  • Instruct and train new and transferred employees into the maintenance department on duties, methods, order and frequency of assigned work

Qualifications


  • Associate Degree preferred but not required

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience required

  • 4+ years of maintenance supervisory/leadership experience preferred

  • Project management experience

  • LEAN, root cause analysis, and/or problem-solving skills

  • Facility /insurance risk review experience

  • Budgeting and expense planning and administration

  • Knowledge and training in Environmental, Health, and Safety aspects of a manufacturing plant

  • Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
