As a Senior Technical Proposal Specialist on the Bids team, you will have exciting opportunities through technical writing to make notable contributions towards the organization's orders and revenue for US and Canada. You will be responsible for structuring, and administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors, customers and/or partners. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts in Marketing, Sales and Service teams in the organization to respond to technical specifications for various Varian's hardware and software products. As a subject matter expert, you will ensure our proposal is comprehensive and consistent with customer's requirements. You will provide pre-sale support to the sales team and support researching technical product information, writing and editing for proposal input. Additionally, you will have exciting opportunities to learn about Varian's products and understand business processes and procedures.

Other Specific Functions or Duties:

• Oversees the preparation of contract proposals




• Responds to technical specifications for proposals




• Works collaboratively with respective subject matter experts within the organization




• Takes on additional tasks as needed

Responsibilities may also include: researching technical publications for medical device information for proposal responses.

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Technical writing.




• Proactive problem solver.




• Multi-tasker with sense of urgency.




• Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.




• Proficient in SharePoint.

Typical Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 8 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 6 years of related experience.
