New Class ends: October 7, 2021

(Classes run Monday-Friday)

We have more applicants than seats for the class. To increase your chances of a seat, you must complete the ENTIRE ONLINE registration process correctly and completely, and follow the steps in email correspondences you receive from the program.

Selected candidates will receive an email invitation to attend a MANDATORY Informational Orientation held on ZOOM on July 16th, 2021 from 9:00pm-10:00am.

Seats to the class will be awarded after the ZOOM meeting via email. These selected students will be required to attend a MANDATORY Screening Day on July 28th, 2021 from 9:30am-12:00pm at Crestview of Portland.

Lecture & Lab: August 25th, 2021- September 22nd, 1:00-7:00pm(up to 96 hours)

Clinical: SEptember 23rd - October 7th, 1:00-9:00pm (75 hours)

This is a great startto become a Nursing Assistant in the State of Oregon and is also a wonderful step to becoming a licensed nurse. Avamere offers tuition reimbursementfor Nursing School after one year of full-time employment.

Employment opportunities as a CNA may also be available within any of our Avamere Facilities. After completing the class and obtaining your CNA certification, you would be eligible to apply!

Details

You will learn to:

Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
• Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident's daily care routine have been made on the care plan.


• Inform the Nurse Supervisor of any changes in the resident's condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident's care plan.


• Assist resident's with daily needs, including preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments.


• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.


• Ensure that resident's rooms are ready for receiving and make residents comfortable.


• Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.

• Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.


• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.


• Effectively communicate necessary resident information to Charge Nurses, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
