Do you want to be part of a collaborative Marketing team? Are you a skilled Marketing Leader comfortable working across a spectrum of creative platforms and with internal and external resources and partners? The Head of Corporate Marketing will lead the evolution and activation of Guardian's brand platform to ensure our corporate promise is compelling, relevant, and differentiated.

You are
A proven marketing leader who has experience in business marketing, brand management and other marketing and communications functions. You have developed and managed brand identity to success (ideally from a challenger perspective in mature, penetrated markets). You understand the need to connect brand activation to company purpose and business outcomes and the need for a corporate brand to elevate business unit marketing efforts. You have the proven ability to partner with lines of business to maximize the value of the Brand, Thought Leadership and Competitive Intelligence for them. You have led communications and creative services teams and understand the criticality ensuring an operating model that can move at the pace of the business and focus on the why vs. the what. Experience connecting a corporate business level thought leadership strategy together in collaboration with PR to maximize impact of our intended messages and activities. A charismatic brand evangelist, you also bring experience and enthusiasm to the discussion as we look to energize the broader organization around the importance and value of embodying our brand values.

You will


  • Develop marketing programs and campaigns that strengthen and unify Guardian's brand and market position and align with business priorities.
  • Accelerate our brand strategy and the connectivity to our company purpose and marketing strategies within the business.
  • Establish brand campaigns focused specifically within select businesses.
  • Create and leverage consistent market research to develop and activate our brand promise and enable our channel to have stronger affinity to Guardian.
  • Work with the creative services team to ensure optimization of roles and responsibilities, working model, and business unit marketing partnership.
  • Develop a strategy for enhancing the Thought Leadership function to deliver against the company purpose and ensure strong connectivity to mid funnel business unit marketing strategies.
  • Optimize an Enterprise Competitive Intelligence function to inform business and marketing strategies and actions.
  • Reconcile agency partnerships- minimize overlap, wasted spend and identify the right approach and partner network.
You have

  • 15 years' minimum of corporate marketing, brand and/or agency background.
  • Experience developing brand strategy and communications for both B2B and B2C audiences.
  • A digital-first mindset with experience building brands through social and digital channels.
  • Experience managing a creative services team and instituting an operating model with internal stakeholders with respect to lead times, SLAs, resource management, contingency planning.
  • Demonstrated acumen and experience in creating brand awareness and brand relevance in a mature, highly penetrated market.
  • A commercial mindset which links brand value to business unit outcomes and quantifies return on investment in supporting commercial outcomes.
  • Successful experience/knowledge in media planning and media mix optimization strategies.
  • Proven experience leading a winning Thought Leadership program.
  • Experience leading a Competitive Intelligence function to create value to the business.
  • Excellent team leadership and management skills.
  • Outstanding financial and budgeting skills, able to manage cost.

Location

  • Metro New York area preferred when offices reopen. WFH flexibility with travel as needed.
