We are looking for a full-time Printed Circuit Board Design Team Leader for our office in Cary, North Carolina. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assigning PCB projects to PCB design processes, facilitating continuous improvements in process efficiency as well as accommodating growth and providing input into the design process. Other essential functions include:
Implement tools to monitor PCB design processes, facilitate continuous improvement in process efficiency, accommodate growth and provide input into the design process
Set the tone for the team environment and build healthy team relationships both inside and outside of PCB Design
Align team on department goals and drive accountability to achieve
Execute PCB department and engineering processes and policies
Recommend department process and policy improvements
Manage PCB Design schedules and effort
Collaborate with other Garmin teams to improve cross-functional communication and productivity
Interview, hire, and train PCB Design associates. Set goals and appraise performance.
Provide personnel with equipment, tools, and information needed to do their jobs with maximum efficiency
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science in a related Engineering or technical discipline from a four-year college or university or above equivalent education or experience. Other requirements include:
3+ years’ experience in an electronics design or engineering environment or 5+ years relevant experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrated effective leadership skills
Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and to exercise sound independent judgment
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Must be flexible, team-oriented, and possess a positive attitude
Must display an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to interact with stakeholders in a professional and timely manner
Ability to effectively learn and apply appropriate standards, technologies, and processes
Experience with Cadence Allegro highly preferred!
