We are looking for a full-time IT Network & Telecommunication Engineer 2 for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing technology through the use of tools and scripting.  Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure components of overall system are managed. Other essential functions include:

  Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems

  Performs and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons form small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations

  
  


• 
  

  Provides 24x7 on-call support

  
  


• 
  

  Continuously develop technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging network & telecommunications systems and other network & telecommunications technologies

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate effectively regarding system operations and environment changes

  
  


• 
  

  Adhere to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictated

  
  


• 
  

  Understands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of network & telecommunications systems

  Ensures that all security requirements are met or exceeded

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another technology related field AND 2 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Other requirements include:

• Experience with Cisco networking solutions, Routing and Switching, BGP, OSPF, IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, DMVPN, ISE, 802.1x, Infoblox, LAN, WAN, Data Center, Riverbed, Splunk, and ASA.

• Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions


• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting
