Woolpert Customer Engineers (CEs) play a critical role in introducing the Cloud mindset to customers. You will interface with Woolpertcustomers and prospectfrom initial intake through deployment phases. You will create proof-of-concepts using a variety of Google, 3rd Party commercial, andopen-sourcetools. You will introduce a modern approach to productivity and product delivery to those customers.Do you consider yourself a great customer- or user-facing Software Engineer, Sales Engineer, Customer Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or System Architect? Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years in ahands-ondev/architect role, with experience in:


    • Cloud-native systems, ideallyrelated to data and analytics such as building a data workflow or data lake.

    • Working knowledge of relevant systems such as Apache Beam and Apache Hadoop for data processing and analysis, or techniques like machine learning

    • Prior customer consultation role.


  • Current proficiency in at least one of: Java, C#, C++, Python, Go, modern JavaScript.

  • Google Certified Professional (Cloud Architect or Data Engineer) highly desirable.


Responsibilities:



  • Consult with new and existing customers on business and technical requirements, with a focus on Cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, hybrid Cloud). This includes developing Cloud resource usage estimates--and budgets--for customers.

  • Build or support rapid proof-of-concepts and proof-of-value experiments.

  • Educate customers through direct product training, and by influencing them towards modern engineering habits.

  • Conduct interactive sessions for troubleshooting problems, recommending best practices, and technical Q&A.

  • Write articles and help customers viahttps://support.woolpert.io.

  • Design, build, and deploy SaaS solutions, typically using Google products andservices.

  • Contribute and support projects likeGeoAwarenessandGeoAccelerators

  • Play a critical role in introducing the Cloud mindset to customers.

  • Interface with Woolpertcustomers and prospectfrom initial intake through deployment phases.

  • Create proof-of-concepts using a variety of Google, 3rd Party commercial, andopen-sourcetools.

  • Introduce a modern approach to productivity and product delivery to those customers.


Skills:



  • Effective learner.You don't know everything and that's OK. But you do approach new technical subject matter systematically, with an open mind. Figuring out an API, learning a new CLI, or jumping into a codebase in a new language are just things you do.

  • Solution oriented.You focus intently on the problem at hand and deliver the simplest possible solution (but not too simple!). You think like system architect and understand the customers must be able to maintain what you deliver.

  • DevOps mindset.You know that shipping anything once is easy. Shipping it repeatedly in production requires discipline. You think about service level objectives and the impact on site reliability during deployment, not after go-live. Infrastructure is code!


Success will be measured by your ability to complete the loop from (a) new customerbusiness, through(b) deployment, and into (c) production delivery of maintainable solutions. Your customers are happy, and happy customers are repeat customers.
