Nurse Anesthesia Faculty - Full-Time at University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is looking for qualified applicants for a full-time non-tenure stream nurse anesthesia faculty.

Faculty members are employees of the University and receive dedicated time and resources to perform scholarly work, travel to present their work at professional conferences, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification and faculty practice. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for the appointment stream faculty positions include an earned doctorate degree in nurse anesthesia. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate potential for scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and engaging diverse students.

Minimum Qualifications :

Assistant Professor - A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing anesthesia. B) Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching, mentoring, and engaging diverse students. C) Demonstrated expertise in the area of nursing or expertise in a related substantive area. D) Evidence of potential to produce scholarly work.

Associate Professor - A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing anesthesia. B) Evidence of excellence in teaching, mentoring and engaging diverse students. C) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material. D) Expertise recognized at the national/international level.

Professor - A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing anesthesia. B) Evidence of sustained excellence as a teacher. C) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material. D) Expertise recognized at the national/international level as has sustained knowledge and reputation in an area of specialty. E) Demonstrates sustained commitment to community services related to professional expertise.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years of prior experience in simulation educational methodology in anesthesia, more than 5 years of full time clinical practice at a tertiary care academic health system, experience in curriculum development for the transition of an MSN program to the entry level DNP level, experience with COA accreditation compliance, experience with ExamSoft testing software and the Typhon Nurse Anesthesia Case Entry system and experience in the role of Nurse Anesthesia Program clinical site coordination.
