Job Description:

II-VI Aerospace and Defense designs, manufactures, assembles and tests precision optical systems and components. Our products have been deployed on military platforms such as submarines, tanks, missiles, fighter jets and UAV's. II-VI Optical Systems has grown over the years from a provider of specialty optical materials to a full service provider of optical components and optical systems.

Job Functions :

Executes all planning activities for assigned programs/products from receipt of order to final shipment, including creating and maintaining detailed schedules. Works with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to ensure a smooth flow of work through departments/processes and on time delivery. Communicates clearly and timely with Business Development and Program Management teams regarding status of programs. Works with Purchasing to ensure materials or outside processes are obtained in accordance with schedule and budget. Will support improvements/enhancements to the MRP planning system and act in a lead role for other planners.

Education :

High School Diploma/GED, some college level courses/certificates in planning/purchasing preferred. APICS certification highly desirable.

Experience/Skills:

3+ years experience in Buying/Planning in a manufacturing environment. ERP experience and process improvements/systematizing planning process in ERP systems. Capacity Planning, managing high volume of programs/part numbers in a job-shop environment (not serial manufacturing) is required. Experience with the production requirements of government contracts is highly desired.

Special Skills:

Strong customer service orientation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong working knowledge of MRP systems (IFS preferred). Working knowledge MS Office programs; Intermediate level MS Excel and Project preferred.

Well-developed organizational, problem solving and reporting skills to enable the coordination of multiple tasks.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Ability work in both an office and production environment with some exposure to noise, dust and machines.

Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency
