Job Summary

The role owns leadership and executive-level relationships supporting our existing CPQ & OM applications. The role serves as a single point of focus between IT and Organizations driving Quote to Order transform.

Manages a larger team of BSAs, SW Engineers, QA automation and/or managers, is accountable for the performance and results of his/her team. Management of the teams may be direct (analysts) and indirect (development scrum teams)

The candidate will stimulate, surface and craft demand for capabilities and assets ensuring potential business value is captured, optimized, and recognized.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of business acumen specific to B2B Quoting, Order Management and Pricing as well as being current on cutting-edge technologies relevant for digital native workforces and companies

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Management


  • Owns business engagement with SalesSales Operations, Product, Order Management and Transformational Programs

  • Responsible for driving and influencing senior leadership decision making

  • Is able to effectively identify appropriate stakeholders

  • Brings strategic thought-leadership to help define IT vision, roadmap and deliver in support of our Quote & Order transformational programs

  • Ability to drive conflict resolution between stakeholders, including senior management and cross functional teams

  • Sets and influences stakeholder expectations related to technology initiatives

  • Responsible for transparent communication to stakeholders related to technology initiatives

Management Reporting


  • Participates in monthly operational reviews of operational performance and roadmap status

  • Executes against operational KPIs

  • Reviews, identifies areas for improvement and makes recommendations to leadership

Resource and Budget Management


  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans that are agreed upon by upper management

  • Works closely with Technical Project Managers to track resource allocation and utilization for portfolio projects

  • Requests approvals for additional expenses outside of approved budget/headcount

  • Communicates budget estimates for cross functional projects/programs, and ensures teams execute assigned projects within approved budgets

  • Provides input to the annual budget planning process relating to project/support/SW maintenance/ Renewals/purchases/etc. for his/her areas of responsibility

System Optimization


  • Enable simplified processes and lead implementation of new digital solutions to improve speed and quality of delivery

  • Promote and practice a change mindset to invigorate transformative initiatives and ensure successful implementation across teams

  • Define and implement new operating model changes to accelerate digital transformation leveraging the paradigms of design thinking, agile, devops, automation etc.

Project/Program Management


  • Responsible for reviewing and approving project plans, provided by Project Managers and technology professionals

  • Expected to resolve most issues to closure

  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating project execution risks

  • Guide and /or revise project plan to ensure it completely captures all activities and eliminates duplicative efforts

  • Streamlines resources and activities and identifies opportunities to automate tasks

R&D / Innovation

  • Drives innovation among the teams, recognizes innovation, and helps communicate new ideas across teams

Process / Policies/Standards


  • Defines and evangelizes processes, policies and standards across all stakeholders

  • Measures performance against process goals

  • Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in process/policies standards

Road Map / Planning


  • Responsible for leading strategic planning, influencing and driving prioritization of initiatives with functional stakeholders

  • Responsible for developing and communicating a roadmap of projects and initiatives to functional stakeholders

People Management


  • Provides leadership and direction to the team, through managers

  • Is accountable for the performance and results of direct reports and maybe a larger or multiple teams.

  • Responsible for succession planning

  • Responsible for performance management of team members, including disciplinary actions and hire/fire decisions/ recommendations

  • Responsible for GPS process including assessments and Total Rewards allocations of direct reports and reviewing and approving manager recommendations

  • Responsible for talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development/growth plans

  • Models the Equinix Culture and Values

Review/Approvals/Escalations/Issues Resolution


  • Monitors and manages support and operational metrics and trends for management areas

  • Identifies and prioritizes areas for optimization

  • Senior Manager responsible for identification of significantly impactful/high risk issues, appropriate prioritization, resource assignment and ownership, and overseeing process through closure of issue while ensuring appropriate escalation and visibility to senior management teams

  • Senior Manager oversees and supports RCA cycles, reviews management level reports related to issues and escalations

  • For more complex and higher risk issues, the manager will draft and support reviews Senior Leadership review cycles

  • Reviews and approves security best practices for networks, systems, and applications

  • Acts as a more senior escalation point for approving or rejecting security architecture requests

  • Acts as escalation point for resolving complex customer security inquiries in partnership with Legal, Sales, and Operations teams

  • Reviews, analyzes, provides recommendations and may decide on acceptance or rejection of audit controls

  • Reviews and approves global IT security policies annually, escalating for final approval, as needed

Vendor Management


  • Manages/leads individual consultants or consulting teams, as assigned

  • Understands vendor roadmaps, manages relationships, feedback and escalations, negotiations and contract renewals

  • Reviews and proposes final vendor selections

  • Manages day-to-day vendor relationships and holds vendors accountable to their deliverables

  • Resolves vendor issues and escalates as needed

Country/Regional Management


  • Directly and indirectly manages team of technology professionals in spread out throughout the world

  • Executes against approved initiatives

  • Partners with global technology owners and regional stakeholders, to implement and maintain global technology standards

Qualifications


  • 5+ years professional experience in a software development leadership role

  • Experience migrating applications to cutting edge SaaS/CPQ/CX/Commerce tools like Oracle CPQ, Oracle Commerce, Zuora, etc.

  • Experience designing and supporting an enterprise-wide customer, partner and employee enabling systems

  • Bachelor's in Engineering / Computer Science preferred
