Job Title: Shipping Supervisor 1

Department: Shipping

Reports To: Shipping Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Fills in for the Shipping Superintendent when needed. Responsible for supervising the shipment of products from production and sister bakeries to the sale routes.

PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all duties assigned and those in which you were trained to do.


• Supervises, trains and directs shipping personnel.


• To ensure all product is delivered according to order, time schedule and free from damage or contamination.


• To schedule all distribution personnel (and transport runs where applicable) in such a manner as to provide for the most efficient use of the work force and the related equipment established standards.


• Ensures that production orders are filled correctly and shipping of product is completed according to schedule.


• To effectively run the assigned shift and address and correct any issues as they arise to assure the proper outcome using good reasoning skills


• To maintain FIFO at all times


• Maintains cleanliness of work area.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or on-the-job experience needed

• Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.


• Experience in the areas of material handling, warehouse, shipping, packaging, etc, is required.

Industry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities needed

• Bakery Industry- Experience in Food environment desired.


• General Business.

Specialty/Job-Related knowledge, skills & abilities needed

• Knowledge of Material handling, warehouse, shipping, packaging.

Leadership experience needed
