ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Developing engineering reports, feasibility studies, process design analysis, and/or reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and reports;

  • Providing oversight and monitoring of projects, including fieldwork;

  • Managing and/or coordinating work efforts and reviewing work performed by other team members;

  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;

  • Developing and maintaining strong collaborative internal (i.e., within Geosyntec) and external (i.e., clients and subcontractors) relationships;

  • Preparing task orders and developing, reviewing, and/or managing proposals, including scope of work, cost/fee estimates, presentations, etc.; and

  • Recruiting, training, managing, and mentoring early-career professionals.

Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff management and mentoring tasks.


Here are some other things you should know about this position:




  • Training: This position requires OSHA/MSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.


  • Fieldwork: Up to 20%


  • Overnight travel: Up to 10%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE



  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or environmental engineering. (required)

  • Masters or PhD degree in chemical or environmental engineering. (preferred)

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California. (required)


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)

  • Understanding of process engineering and treatment concepts such as physical and chemical treatment of various matrices. (required)

  • Familiarity with national and state environmental regulations relevant to water and wastewater processes. (required)

  • Prior research experience in water/wastewater treatment process technologies. (required)

  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)

  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)

  • Proven leadership skills. (required)

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)

  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)

  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
