Global Cybersecurity Awareness & Communications Leader, Vice President

Who we are looking for

The Global Cybersecurity Awareness & Communications Leader for Global Cybersecurity (GCS) will be responsible for implementing awareness and communications projects in support of the GCS key strategic initiatives and business goals in addition to day-to-day support of brand awareness, employee, client and internal/external (including external regulatory) engagement. S/He will coordinate the development of effective awareness and communications materials and will be responsible for implementing strategic awareness and communications plan for GCS.

The Global Cybersecurity Awareness & Communications Leader applies strong writing and communications skills, cultivates collaborative relationships with internal and external resources to support activities and provides technical guidance, as needed. The person in this role will contribute to the development and implementation of awareness and communication campaigns and results measurement. S/He will establish good working relationships with internal teams and will collaborate with business partners to help formulate decision criteria. The person in this role will keep abreast of cybersecurity industry/segment trends, market climates and competitive activities, to recommend ways to leverage opportunities among colleagues. The Global Cybersecurity Awareness & Communications Leader may lead special projects/ initiatives for the GCS functions or business units and will act with a clear sense of accountability supporting functional or business initiatives.

The Global Cybersecurity Awareness & Communications Leader will have the ability to multitask quickly and professionally in response to competing demands in a fast paced, dynamic cybersecurity environment. The successful candidate will have patience, flexibility, a high level of professionalism, a keen sense of priorities and breadth of change management acumen, and a superb level of tact and discretion. The Global Cybersecurity Awareness & Communications Leader will be responsible for partnering with State Street’s Public Relations and Global Awareness & Communications teams to prepare content, articles, media, news releases and other content initiatives to cultivate and grow relationships and inform and support GCS related communications across the diverse audiences.

Ideal Candidate

Someone with a wide array of awareness and communications experience in a corporate environment, including, but not limited to, experiences in communications strategies, traditional, as well as, digital marketing platforms, and strong writing skills. Other skills include the ability to mentor and build highly skilled teams, keeping up with trends in the market, and ability to build strong partnerships with other executive leadership team members within the organization.

What you will be responsible for


  • A leader with demonstrated experience to successfully define GCS awareness strategies and develop executable awareness plans to support the organization’s overall strategy and objective.

  • Lead GCS executive and internal communications across the firm, including the development of strategy, messages and plans for GCS communications programs in support of business goals.

  • Partner with the GCS Leadership team, Public Relations and Marketing & Communications teams to proactively identify and anticipate opportunities to develop and implement communication plans and engagement initiatives supporting the organizational strategy and brand platform

  • Provide counsel and support to GCS and corporate leaders to better communicate the GCS overall vision, strategy, and capabilities to wide variety of audiences.

  • Develop, write, edit and proof presentations, talking points, blogs, Q&As, memo and responses related to GCS initiatives (including internal/external regulatory and client initiatives).

  • Monitor industry trends and KPI's related to brand perception, cultural engagement, and organizational strategy

  • Analyze metrics on overall effectiveness of GCS communications and awareness programs and developing recommendations for improvements will be a job responsibility as well.

  • Lead the editorial and written communication strategy, ensuring consistent "on-brand" messaging and engaging content development for internal and external communication

  • Identify and amplify compelling and distinctive storytelling opportunities which will support GCS’s awareness strategy and branding efforts

  • Oversee the strategic communication and visual messaging on the GCS intranet site

  • Assist with the preparation of communication for executive and executive and internal committee meetings, in addition to supporting GCS leadership communication requests

  • In partnership with the leadership team, play a key role in preparing incident response communication as needed

  • Develop innovative ideas and initiatives to galvanize strategy, brand, and culture within GCS

Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

  • Experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.

  • Planning and managing experience at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Experience deploying or improving an organizations digital strategy is a strong plus.

  • Industry experience in the Cybersecurity, Financial and/or IT arenas is also a plus.
