The Position:

We are looking for a Principal Software Architectwith 10+ experience architecting applications or services delivered via a public cloud such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Proven experience in the discipline of architecting for operating in a cloud setting. A certified architect is preferred.

What it takes:

• 15+ years in software development


• 10+ years in a software architecture role


• 5+ years of architecting applications and/or services for a public cloud


• 2+ years delivering applications via Kubernetes-based container orchestration


• Demonstrated ability to work with large teams and influence technology pathfinding and implement new technology developments within products


• Provide architectural leadership across several interdependent engineering teams, products and capabilities.


• Be the technical expert, researching, evaluating, and implementing state-of-the-art technology (open source, third party, etc.).

Desired

• Experience with RBDMS engines such as Oracle or Postgres


• Experience with elastic data engines such as Aurora, EMR, Redshift or similar technologies


• Solid knowledge in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, .Net


• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools and various cloud technologies.

• Mentor local teams on the technical aspects of the architected solutionand Provide technical guidance and expertise throughout the design and deployment lifecycle

• Premier presentation and communication skills


• Interact with multiple technologists in the company as well as between developers and Engineering managers to evaluate the feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development


• Expertise with iterative Agile development methodologies.


• Experience with Software Development within the Analytics field is a plus.

The ideal candidate has worked in all three major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and Azure) and is comfortable with designing applications hosted in any of these providers. This person is the techie's techie.
