Associate Software Engineer

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (TABS) is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our product development team. The opportunity is available in the Document Solutions Engineering (DSE) division of Toshiba, headquartered in Lake Forest, CA. This development team is leading the Internet of Things (IoT) effort within Toshiba, developing enterprise level products and services in the cloud using Microsoft Azure. We are a high energy and fast paced team using Agile/Scrum methodology.


Perform entry level engineering assignments in support of the design and development of software applications and systems. Work under close supervision.


As an Associate Software Engineer, you will design, implement and deliver web services and applications using C#, ASP.net and MVC. SQL experience is valuable.


Summary:


You will also help investigate and drive online performance, scalability and security. The ideal candidate is someone who has both deep and broad understanding of web technologies and thrive in shipping frequently. We are a high energy and fast paced team using Agile/Scrum methodology.


Responsibilities:


  • Under management direction, review business requirements to draft software design and review with engineering team for approval.

  • Break down work items into tasks and provide development estimates.

  • Implement and unit test software functions in accordance with DSE standards.

  • Collaborate with other developers and QA team to ensure proper test coverage, resolve issues as needed to deliver high quality software systems.

  • Regularly communicate task status to team members and identify risk areas.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Degree equivalent.

  • May have held a Software Engineering Internship

  • Skilled in major programming languages such as C#, java, and python.

  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

  • Capability to write and optimize SQL statements and stored procedures.

  • Proficiency in web technologies such as ASP.net or similar

  • Experience with integrated development environments, test automation, and continuous development/continuous integration.

  • Familiarity with Agile SDLC methodologies.

  • Must have good communication skills and ability to follow direction.
