Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate leadership opportunity for a Director of Construction to join our team in Des Moines ! This construction leader is responsible for promoting and driving the growth and profitability of the regional construction team, while meeting customer service goals and ensuring best practices of integrated project delivery.
This leader will collaborate with the Vice President to generate new Ryan development projects and third-party construction projects while providing focus on strategic sectors representing approximately 70% of annual volume. These sectors of focus include corporate build-to-suit; retail; specialized industrial; healthcare; and senior living, with individual project sizes range from $1M to $100M+.
The position reports to the Region Vice President and Senior Vice President of Operations for the Division, partners with other operations leaders on best practices and business development leaders to win work, and supervises all construction project management and field operations for the Great Lakes region.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of successful commercial project management experience at a in a design-build or negotiated construction environment. Must have experience in leading construction operations, business development, estimating, and/or field management in multiple geographic locations. A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, real estate management, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred. This person must also display excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening skills, and natural leadership qualities and presence.
