Job Description and Responsibilities:

The position will be an integral part of Enterprise Valuation-Statutory team within Enterprise Stat Valuation & Projections. The Enterprise Valuation-Stat team is responsible for the overall process management of enterprise year end statutory reporting and filings, and enterprise stress testing for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and appropriateness across business units. The associate will be responsible for preparing Appointed Actuary AAT/RBC memoranda, completing Opinions/Certifications/Reliance Statements/Rep Letters/state specific supplements, Signing off actuarial items in annual statements of blue book and green book, all statutory regulatory and Board filings, and first line of respondent for all regulatory requests. The team cultivates strong collaborative relationship with enterprise wide function teams.

The candidate responsibilities include:


  • Perform quarterly processes - enterprise reconciliations of reserve table and reserve trending analysis, enterprise reconciliations of asset table, and Rightsizing

  • Perform preparation and review of year-end processes, but not limited to Actuarial Opinions, Certifications, Rep Letters, Reliance Statements, and other state specific supplements

  • Perform year end actuarial items reconciliation in annual statements and support the sign off

  • Support statutory regulatory filings, and coordinate other regulatory requests

  • Support the board filings of Illustration Actuary Report, Action Taken Memo, Non-guaranteed element filing and delegation.

  • Support Actuarial Oversight activities

  • Expect to participate ongoing process improvements, and drive future initiatives

  • Support business units by providing guidance, reviewing/commenting on BU submissions 

  • Partner effectively and formulate solutions to support BU valuation, ALM projections, and other stakeholders

  • Support new regulatory requirements implementation

Job Requirements:


  • 4+ years of actuarial experience

  • Associate of the Societies of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) is preferred but not required.

  • Experience with Statutory financial reporting is a plus.

  • Highly level of self-motivation, adaptable to changes, quick learning, and process improvement mindset

  • Experience with O365 to support all applicable technical solutions, such as SharePoint, Teams, Power BI

  • Strong collaboration and influence skills to partner with stakeholders

  • Experience with Excel, Macro, and VBA

  • Attention to details when reviewing and preparing documents

*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.

Salary range specific to Colorado: ($98,000 to $139,200) + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
