Job Description:

The OU Marketing and Communications video team is seeking a dynamic, hands-on storyteller to serve as a videographer/editor in the creation of high-impact video content to support an array of educational partnerships on all three campuses at the University of Oklahoma. This is the perfect role for someone who likes to direct, edit, produce, and run a camera. You’ll work on location, in a studio and in the office as part of the team that plans, shoots, edits, prepares, and delivers video productions of varying lengths and levels of production value. This role requires the ability to translate concepts into compelling storytelling that’s also on brand.  

General


  • Will be working in various video formats (narrative, documentary, commercials, etc.)

  • Must be comfortable working as a team, but also confident in the ability to shoot and edit as a one-person crew, if necessary.

  • Will be expected to have good creative storytelling instincts.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degee or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND: 


  • 0-24 months experience as a videographer and editor


Skills:



  • Proficient in lighting and audio techniques



  • Solid editing skills using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut or Davinci Resolve



  • Extensive knowledge of camera equipment



  • Must work well under pressure from deadlines and can multitask.


  • Ability to communicate with clients, hear their needs, then brainstorm creative video solutions for them.

  • Must be professional and organized when working with clients.

  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple projects, schedules, and deadlines at once.

  • None


Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to see including color, depth perception and clarity, engage in repetitive motions, and communicate.

Department Preferences:


  • 3-5 years of experience as a videographer and editor

  • Knowledge of the Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
