The Business Development Manager for Active Ingredients in North America (NORAM) holds a high impact position that will represent Clariant's Active Ingredient business with direct accounts and distributors. This position's primary responsibility is to successfully manage existing accounts while creating aggressive growth among Clariant's for existing and new product innovations. The Regional Account Manager will closely collaborate with team members in Clariant's Active Ingredients in France and New Jersey Consumer Care Innovation Center to provide innovative solutions to our valued customers. This role is remote and the ideal candidate will sit in the North East.



Responsibilities


  • Cultivate new and strengthen existing customer relationships to drive sales and profitability with existing and new products

  • Implement strategic initiatives to successfully grow business with in NORAM

  • Lead price negotiations with customers and manage profitability to achieve financial targets

  • Collaborate with Consumer Care team for joint calls and promotional efforts with customers

  • Act as primary point of contact for Active Ingredients in NORAM

  • Present to customers and/or coordinate presentations and customer visits/workshops

  • Create and manage new opportunities within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system

  • Manage customer projects, share information on a timely basis with internal stakeholders and liase with technical and marketing teams as needed

  • Actively participate in team and cross functional meetings as needed

  • Identify opportunities for M&A



Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field with strong knowledge of skin biology, biological pathways and active ingredients

  • 10 years of proven experience with strategic business planning including sales, marketing and business development

  • Strong business acumen and high level of autonomy to make complex decisions within operating guidelines

  • Action and results oriented mindset with a high degree of enthusiasm, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Ability to multi-task and manage resources to maximize performance

  • Willingness to travel 20 - 40% of the time as needed
