This awarded and recognized hospital in South Texas is actively interviewing for a Nursing Director to oversee this busy Emergency Department. Join this outstanding health care system, and lead a team of tenured ED and Emergency Services professionals.


This 200+ bed medical center, well known for its specialty service lines and commitment to the community, is actively seeking a Nursing Director to lead clinical operations in the Emergency Department. This person will join a facility known for high quality patient care, multiple centers of excellence, and as a regional leader in crucial service lines. This Medical Center is proud to provide best-in-class cardiology, oncology, birthing & neonatal, and trauma services the South Texas.


Supported by two amazing and experienced CEN Nurse Supervisors, ED Charge RNs, and a tenured team of Emergency Room Staff Registered Nurses, the Director of the Emergency Department will lead a unit that feels like a family. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the ED Nursing Director will feel supported from above and below as they take on many of the same challenges Emergency Rooms across the country face.   


This 30-bed Emergency Department has a consistently high census and fast pace. The Covid Crisis has pushed the limits on this, and additional accommodations have been set up to care for up to 50 patients. The ED Nursing Director will spearhead initiatives to improve Door-to-Doc times, LWOBS (Left Without Being Seen) metrics, and throughput by applying a strong background and experience leading Emergency Department Nursing Operations.


As a clinical leader, you will be the accountable for insuring that ED RNs, Triage and Admitting Registered Nurses, Certified Emergency Nurses (CENs), and support staff are all adhering to clinical protocols and following best practices. The Emergency Nursing Director will also play a leading role in developing, improving, and continually supporting the education initiatives of the ED. You will act as a coach and mentor to the nurses, drawing out the skills and talent in this fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
