Purpose/Introduction Chevron Phillips is seeking an IT Specialist - Plant Networks analyst in the Information Technology group located at the Port Arthur plant. This position will be a dual site role supporting systems at both the Orange and Port Arthur plants. This is a critical IT support position and will be responsible for administering and managing the plant networks. This includes design, implementation, maintenance tasks, as well as troubleshooting and resolution of issues. In this position, you will manage fiber/copper networks, switches, routers, and other network equipment to ensure resources are reliable and available. Your role will interface with multiple groups. In addition to the network task, you will also be responsible for plant physical security access control systems components like badge readers, maglock, and security cameras as well managing the MS Teams voice administration and Motorola radio systems.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, monitor, tune and maintain all plant switches, routers, and firewalls to ensure a robust, stable network. Ensuring compliance to all corporate and plant policies and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain contractor relation with vendors and consultants.
  • Develop good working relationships with corporate staffs and all other Plant groups outside of IT.
  • Perform Lifecyle replacement of network hardware, radio system components, and physical security (badge readers and controller panels).
  • Lead and/or participates in managing. Ensuring projects are completed on time and meet objectives.
  • Coordinate, configure, install, and maintains local area network, and wireless networks.
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring of network performance.
  • Support Motorola Radio system.
  • Document and maintain all pertinent information for access points, hubs, firewalls, routers, switches, fiber and copper networks and related licenses.
  • Follow company standard Change management process.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience supporting network infrastructure, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, wireless access points, and protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting network related issues.
  • Familiarity with Wide Area networking (WAN) inter-connectivity, components, wiring infrastructures, Layer 2 and 3 networking protocols, multicast, DHCP, DNS, IP address management and network monitoring software is preferred.
  • Competent in programing and configuring Cisco Switches
  • Familiarity with Cisco Wireless LAN controllers and Wireless Access point support
  • Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) and Process network environments including the Purdue model.
  • Knowledge of computer/network security systems, applications, procedures, and design.
  • Familiarity with radio systems (Motorola preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network plus
  • Familiarity with Access control systems and CCTV systems
  • Experience with Fiber Optic networks, including termination, splicing bend ratios etc.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Voice administration.
