Position Overview


The Logistics Analyst will support all analytics, strategy and reporting for the Proterra Global Logistics team. This role is responsible for standardizing, harmonizing and analyzing Logistics data across various modes of transportation. The Analyst will be responsible for monitoring service, identifying cost saving opportunities, and driving service improvements. They will help oversee the management of projects and project execution for key strategies. The Analyst will be responsible for identifying and implementing reporting solutions that will allow him/her to provide analysis that drives efficiencies and improves overall effectiveness. The Analyst will partner with various key stakeholders of all levels including Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Materials, Carriers, 3PL’s and others. They will have a service mindset, both towards internal and external customers.


 


About the Role – You will:


 



  • Exercise enterprise cost mindset to continuously improve cost and quality for the global logistics network.

  • Deliver in depth analysis of logistics network to data mine opportunities for cost improvement actions

  • Lead RFQ/RFP activities and corresponding bid analysis, including maintenance of supporting data

  • Support the negotiation and management of all carrier and 3PL contracts, including but not limited to Truckload, LTL, Parcel, Ocean, Flatbed and Intermodal

  • Track, monitor and report on carrier performance

  • Analyze and make recommendations to improve logistics and carrier performance

  • Manage carrier data through monthly reports and quarterly business reviews

  • Assist with the development, modification, preparation, or validation of automated logistics or maintenance data reporting systems, ERP’s and management information

  • Develop, optimize and maintain operational and carrier scorecards, reports, KPIs, dashboards, and exception reports to pinpoint service and cost

  • Develop and maintain key metrics and executive dashboards on freight invoice payments, logistics cost performance, and cost improvement roadmap actions

  • Reconcile demand variances and refine logistics forecasts to improve accuracy

  • Analyze and report on transportation activities and financial

  • Support the Finance group with logistics information for the monthly and quarterly close processes

  • Collaborate cross functionally with key teams on initiatives that align logistics with cost reduction or service improvement strategies

  • Collaborate with carriers, our business intelligence and system development teams regularly to initiate logistics carrier EDI/API integration, and/or to develop internal TMS/GMS

  • Identify & execute opportunities to increase bandwidth through automation and streamlining of business processes

About You:



  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of electrical integration; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at all management levels.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.  

  • Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

  • Excellent English communication skills.

 


Education and Experience


 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Applied Mathematics (or equivalent work experience).

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as an Analyst in Distribution, Transportation and/or Logistics related

  • Advanced Microsoft Office user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) – Power User

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP etc…), SQL, Power BI, Tableau and other Logistics/Supply Chain Analytics tools

  • Ability to code highly

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


 



  • 5+ years of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated performance and results; in the areas of Manufacturing, Logistics (including international), Supply Chain, Transportation, Distribution and/or other Supply Chain related functions.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with regards to logistics analysis, data manipulation, and the ability to create information from

  • Self-motivated and

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, reasoning, problem solving and organizational

  • Project management

  • Some travel

  • Ability to build relationships and partnerships to collaboratively execute business

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to creatively craft win-win scenarios

  • Knowledge of various logistics, distribution, supply chain and manufacturing processes, potential failure modes, and critical success
