IT Business Analyst – HR/HQ/Facilities at S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in Racine, Wisconsin

Job Description:

The Senior Associate, IT Business Analyst - HR/HQ/Facilities is part of the Application Development, Maintenance, and Integration (ADMI) group and will be responsible for managing internal Business Applications supporting these business functions.  This position reports into the head of Business Applications, ADMI, and will include maintenance and support of applications in HR, Headquarters (HQ) and Facilities functions.  As a member of the ADMI team, you will be part of a fast paced, digitally savvy team that’s critical to the success of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Planning, analysis, configuration, development, implementation, and maintenance of business solutions to support SCJ business operations requirements.

  • Work with a cross-functional team across BPT to ensure delivery of the projects on schedule, within budget and in line with the parameters set by the global template design.

  • Support business change management as part of process transformation in application implementations.


  • Identify and evaluate application options to meet business needs worldwide, referencing SCJ specific and industry trends as well as application roadmap planning.

  • Develop reliable cost estimates of all components required to deliver applications and solutions.

  • Translates business requirements into functional specification packages and manages changes to such specifications.

  • Prepares comprehensive test plans for introduction of new applications or functionality to ensure expected outcomes and to minimize risk of business disruption.

  • Provides diligent oversight of development execution and testing by on-site or offshore external resources.

  • Works closely, and provides guidance where needed, to external and internal resources throughout entire solution life cycle.

  • Collaborates with business partners to achieve business user acceptance of accurate, completed tests.

  • Ensures existing applications are performing to service levels, utilized, at relevant versions and meeting SCJ security and audit requirements.

  • As needed, drive business process redesign for new technology introductions.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related degree or military experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements

  • 3+ years of working experience with business application maintenance, development, and integration

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:


  • Kronos Workforce or Workforce Dimensions experience a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to present effectively to management.

  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with offshore team members worldwide.

  • Working knowledge of fundamental project management skills.

  • Thorough understanding of all phases of the application life cycle.

  • Worldwide view, results oriented with strong work ethic.

  • Multilingual capability strongly preferred.
