Job Summary

 

This position will be responsible for supporting the Lawn & Garden Central Region in a fleet management capacity with travel required on a weekly and monthly basis.  The Supply Chain & Logistics (SCL) Coordinator will report to the Transportation Manager in the region. 

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

 

• Work collaboratively with the Central Region’s transportation team


• Provide support as Dispatcher when coverage is needed


• Responsible for working with NECS in ensuring that all company-owned equipment and DOT qualifications files are current


• Ensure HOS compliance, new driver set up, handle existing driver issues and updates with troubleshooting technique


• Inventory level management


• Provide monthly mileage report to EH&S Director and NECS for company owned trucks


• Establish and maintain GeoTab set up for all rental trucks during the season


• Manage Cypress / transfers


• Responsible for 3rd Party Carrier Recruitment


• Support logistics in Raw Materials

Minimum Qualifications

 

• At least 1 year Load Planning/Logistics experience


• Experience with Transportation Management Systems


• Creative/Critical Thinking to Improve Freight Performance


• Intermediate Microsoft Excel / Word experience


• Strong communication / negotiation skills


• Self-Starter


• Works well with minimal supervision


• Knows basic DOT rules & Regulations


• Able to work in fast paced environment


• Ability to Multi-task


• Ability to work in a team environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience, training and education


• Experience with specialized computer dispatching equipment

 

Employment Conditions

 

• Work sitting for long periods of time


• Requires frequent revision in work assignments


• Valid driver’s license


• Travel will be required to the Central (1x/month) Region
