Job Description Summary: Payments Platformwithin OmniPayment Group is looking for a Senior member of technical staff to architect, design and lead development along with team to built a complex and scalable platform to support the needs of the growing business. The platform serves $100+B in payment volumes across 200+ countries. The PayPal Platform is a suite of web services and async processing, which are used by internal and external developers to enable payments anytime, anywhere and anyway. Therefore, the evolution of this platform is integral to PayPal's long-term strategy.
We are looking for strong technologists who are passionate to solve large scale highly complex computer engineering problems, in a repeatable and maintainable way. You will build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a technical fascination for how everything ties together.
Provide technical leadership; define best practices and approaches to build and manage Payments platform
Architect, Design and Implement REST APIs that confirm to industry standards
Design, implement and maintain business-critical systems.
Lead and Mentor other engineers, work with managers and operations to ensure that systems meet reliability, accuracy, and performance goals.
Be able to independently design, code, and test complex features
Help identify and fix performance, scalability, and other issues in a time critical manner.
Drive both technology and product innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
Influences with other functional team's leadership.
12+ years of experience developing software, primarily with object-oriented languages such as JAVA/J2EE/C++.
Interface with internal engineering teams, customers, and partners.
Experience in building large scale performant distributed systems with RESTful micro-services.
Deep understanding of and extensive experience applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles.
Experience developing data-driven applications using an industry standard RDBMS (Oracle), including strong data architecture and SQL development skills.
Experience collaborating with business users to define the key business requirements and translate them into process/technical solutions.
Experience in Unix based development environment (Unix, Shell, Perl, Python)
Experience applying software design patterns.
Experience with unit testing and tools.
Experience using industry standard software development tools (IDE / Version Control / Continuous Integration).
Expertise in online payments and related domains is a plus.
