Quality Assurance Manager - Purina Animal Nutrition

We are immediately hiring a QA Manager for our Purina Animal Nutrition manufacturing facility!

Position Purpose:

This position gives you the opportunity to lead our quality programs. You will ensure safe animal feed is produced in a manufacturing environment. You will report to the Plant Manager and you will have a QA Tech and one to two Housekeepers reporting to you.

Our QA practices are housed in our QMS (Quality Management System). Following these practices, you will be able to implement new policies as regulations change as well as maintain existing practices.

You will also interact with the production staff, providing coaching and training on quality standards, HACCP, and other regulatory initiatives. You will also lead continuous improvement projects and also provide root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve issues.

Experience-Education (Required):

Bachelor's degree in Feed Science or related field. 2+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance in feed, food or related fields of operation.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

Knowledge of regulatory requirements to include HACCP, GMP's.

Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation
Possess integrity in products, processes, and relationships.

Strong communication/interpersonal/training/coaching skills

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Analytical problem solving/root cause analysis .

Ability to be insightful and act strategically and also tactically.

Ability to handle customer complaints.

Experience-Education (Preferred):

5+ years working a QA role within a full line lifestyle feed plant. Previous supervisory / regulatory experience. Advanced degree in feed science or other related field.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

Knowledge of FDA and other applicable regulatory agencies SOP's.
