This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing the strategy to promote the Capital District YMCA to all of its stakeholders, playing a key role in communicating the mission and value of the YMCA.
Salary range: $85,000-$100,000
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead the development of annual marketing plan that aligns with strategic plan
Evaluate current marketing channel usage, and suggest improvements/enhancements to maximize user experience
Develop marketing campaigns with a focus on outcomes
Develop annual promotional calendar
Educate staff about marketing best practices to ensure alignment with strategic plan and effective execution across channels.
Develop Public Relations strategy; assist in crisis communications
Implement social media engagement strategies that can be executed by YMCA staff
Works with staff to create key messages specific to program areas
Provide messaging support to the association
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field.
5 - 7 years of in marketing, advertising, public relations or related field, preferably in a nonprofit agency.
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with diverse populations.
Must be able to work cooperatively with YMCA leadership, staff and volunteers.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
