Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for providing support for FMH/PDT Ametek Goleta. This position Performs quality control inspections upon receipt of products and during the manufacturing of parts, assemblies, and systems; and provides support to the Quality Assurance Department. Use and Program CMM for inspections of incoming and finished items. Examines and inspects materials, finished parts and products for dimensional and workmanship defects and wear and to ensure conformance with work orders, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications. Produce and process documents required to comply with company and Customer requirements. The Successful Candidate will: Have a proven track record of success in the commercial and military aerospace industry. Will remain professional while multi-tasking in a manufacturing environment with fast-changing priorities. • Programs and Operates CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) using computer software and files from engineering solid-works models. (Zeiss Calypso, DEA V-DIMS CMM Software) • Coordinates inspections of materials, products, and work in progress for conformance to specifications; conducts final inspections of parts before shipping to ensure they meet applicable specifications or drawings. Documents AS9102 FAIR's for incoming and final inspections. • Collects samples for testing; witnesses tests; records test results and inspection data; compares test results with specifications to ensure conformance to standards. • Marks items for acceptance or rejection; prepares Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) and Failure Analysis Reports (FAR). UniPoint Software • Confers with suppliers, customers and others regarding inspection results; recommends corrective procedures; compiles reports of results, recommendations, and needed repairs. • Maintains Quality records. • Highly adaptable, effective team player with the ability to develop, lead, and sustain change activities • Self-motivated with strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments • This individual will be required to provide leadership and Quality technical support within the programs' value streams. • CMM Programing and Operational functions. Ability to train others on measurement practices. • Knowledge of production processes. Prepare and complete FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) per AS9100 (AS9102). • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses. • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. • Knowledge of English grammar and spelling sufficient to keep detailed records, and read and understand technical documents. • Ability to communicate orally in a clear, polite, and courteous manner with others. • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and ensure that tasks are completed on schedule. • Ability to monitor processes, materials, and/or surroundings. • Ability to evaluate a variety of information to determine a product's conformance with specifications or drawings. • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and to pay attention to detail. • Ability to organize and maintain quality files and records. • Ability to work independently and as a team member. • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing conditions and requirements. • Generate, navigate and populate various Quality software programs • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles - Identifying and eliminating waste from business processes, bringing improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
