Senior Accountant at NetSmart Technologies in Overland Park, Kansas

Job Description:

Responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations for the monthly general ledger close as well as assisting in the preparation and distribution of various financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including the maintenance of standard journal entries.




• Meet monthly closing calendar deadlines and communicate any issues on a timely basis.




• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.




• Assist with annual external audit including preparing assigned schedules for the annual audit and interim procedures.




• Research and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.




• Coordinate with other departments to obtain information and/or to record and correct transactions.




• Provide analysis for variances in assigned balance sheet and expense accounts.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's degreeand relevant work experience




• At least 2 years' experience in accounting and finance




• Strong technical accounting skillsand knowledge of US GAAP




• Advanced Excel skills




• Time management skills




• High attention to detail with excellent organization skills




• High level of professionalism with internal and external customers




• Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines




• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across organizational functions

Preferred

• CPA




• Software systems work experience includingGreat Plains, Salesforceand Softrax
