Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:


  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

  • Two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

  • Proficient in computer skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to learn new skills and complete additional training as needed; in particular the SAP-PM modules to support BT (Business Transformation)

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, machine construction prints, blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals, and vendor diagrams

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Previous experience with SAP and/or SAMS is preferred

  • Mechanical knowledge and ability to use of basic hand/power tools

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and engagement of Lean/5S principles

  • Ability to work independently, display ingenuity and initiative, and demonstrate a positive attitude

  • Active engagement in LMS2.0 activities, including daily Tier 1 & 2 meetings, Kaizen events, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts

  • Perform all operations in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and procedures

  • Participate in EHS incident investigations, EHS Committee, MOC, and PSSR’s

Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and coordinate a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) program with detailed Job Plans

  • Utilize SWOs (Shop work Order) system for submittal, execution and completion of work orders as required

  • Coordinate SWO process to assure all work orders are completed in a timely manner

  • Prioritize SWOs, assign, track, assure documentation of work completed and time assigned is accurate, close SWOs, analyze and generate summary reports

  • Communicate effectively with Production, Supply Chain, and all support groups to maintain clear understanding of goals, results and day-to-day information necessary to maintain a smooth operation

  • Set-up and maintain Plant Engineering documentation system (e.g.  equipment manuals, engineering prints, equipment specifications, software back-ups, etc.)

  • Assist with coordination of outside contractors and external services

  • Support stockroom inventory management and procurement

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment repairs as necessary for proper operation and personnel safety

  • As needed, support Plant Engineering Team efforts for equipment and facility infrastructure renewal including painting, renovations, and upgrades

Travel: None expected

Work Shift: Days with flexibility to support 24/7 operations (overtime as needed)

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
