Accountant, SEC Reporting at Chubb in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

The Financial Analyst will report to the Manager, Financial Reporting and is a pivotal team member of the unit responsible for preparation of quarterly SEC filings and consolidated financial reporting. The Financial Analyst will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel including other financial analysts, divisional leadership, and functional staff to interpret financial data and operational performance. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the preparation of all SEC filings including financial statements, footnotes, disclosures and supporting documentation


• Be accountable for various analytical and reporting responsibilities that include the ability to work within finance and other departments


• Recognize, research and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues


• Analyze technical accounting topics and propose conclusions


• Assist in XBRL reporting for all SEC filings, which includes researching tags and staying up-to-to-date taxonomy updates


• Assist with the implementation of FASB projects and standards

Technical Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Excellent computer skills with an ability to learn accounting software


• Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines


• Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently


• Microsoft Word and Excel experience required


• Proven problem solving skills
