Job Summary

Sheldahl, a leading provider of flexible interconnect products and electronic materials has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Representative to join our friendly team in our easily-accessible, Northfield, MN location – just minutes from the metro area.

The Customer Service Representative will be based at Sheldahl, a Flex Company, in Northfield MN.  You will be part of a highly effective customer support team which interacts with our customers and Business Development (sales) staff daily.  Your primary focus is supporting external and internal customers through the management of customer orders, communication of demand planning information to our Planning Dept., as well as coordination of order shipment and invoicing through other internal departments.  This position offers you an opportunity to grow, as a major contributor to the success of our organization and the voice of our customer.

Here is a glimpse of what you will do…


  • Appropriately utilize system applications and resources to accurately and effectively provide a comprehensive and high-quality service for all customer needs.

  • Handle inquiries and resolve customer problems and complaints with care and efficiency to ensure one-call resolution.

  • Maintain customer service standards during high-pressure situations such as increased call volume, fewer resources or challenging customers.

  • Interpret customer needs, recognize symptoms, causes and solutions.

  • Communicate daily with our customers regarding their orders, shipments and invoices.

  • Enter and acknowledge customer orders utilizing our Oracle ERP system.

  • Communicate customer demand to our Planning Department.

  • Send and Receive pertinent documents to internal and external customers regarding shipments and fulfilling Customs requirements.

Here is some of what you will need (required)…


  • Demonstrate clear speaking and writing skills in English

  • Bachelor (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience

  • Three years’ experience in a Customer Service- related position

  • Excellent customer-interfacing skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
