General Scope
The EMT-B is responsible for the safe and efficient response, treatment, and transport of all persons requesting or requiring emergent or non-emergent medical service.
Cataldo offers a robust training program designed with new EMT-B’s in mind, and is committed to a quality training and onboarding experience through our new onboarding program. Given the mix of contracts and communities we serve, Cataldo is the top destination for EMT’s who are looking to gain experience in both the 911 and inter-facility transfer lines of care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver quality patient care in accordance with clinical policies, statewide protocol, and standards of care
Attend to all patients in a courteous, professional manner
Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations; company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes
Complete a vehicle and equipment checklist at the beginning of each assigned shift. Inspect and clean the assigned vehicle and all equipment. Ensure compliance with minimum stock requirements, proper function, and cleanliness of all equipment
Complete and submit all documentation/paperwork requirements daily
Communicate effectively with EMS agencies, physicians, and other health care providers
Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Must maintain a reliable attendance record
Perform daily housekeeping duties at all assigned bases of operation
Complete other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Must be fully state certified, CPR certified, maintain and SAED authorization
Must be able to pass a background check, including CORI
Must be able to pass a drug screen and lift test
Previous driving experience in a commercial setting a plus
Commitment to providing exemplary customer service
Physical Requirements
Must be able to life and maneuver 125 pounds with assistance and without difficulty
Must be able to walk up and down stairs without difficulty and the ability to lift and carry 125 pounds up and down two flights of stairs with assistance and without difficulty
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Must be able to sit, stand, kneel for long periods of time
Must be able to walk without difficulty and without affecting the immediate performance of job-related duties
Must be able to bend, stoop and crawl as duties require
Occasionally must be able to work in low light and confined spaces
