Claims Manager at Pike Electric, Inc in Mount Airy, North Carolina

Job Description:

Position Summary:   Manages day-to-day claims operations, including claims evaluation, adjudication and customer service in accordance with agreed quality and production standards. Processes claims in a timely manner and complies with industry fair claims practices and applicable state regulations concerning the processing of claims. Prepares budget and sets goals, while being accountable for the results. Manages staff of claims professionals, which may include claims specialists and administrative support personnel. Maintains good, professional working relationship with superiors, peers, subordinates and other department managers and personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages day to day workflow and claims processing.

  • Monitors personnel performance, training needs and counseling.

  • Participates in inter-department business activities.

  • Participates in extra-company business activities.

  • Creates reports for specific departmental use.

  • Meets monthly with claims committee to review claims/reserves setting.

  • Manages company’s litigated matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5-10 years of claims experience

  • Minimum 3 year’s management/supervision experience

  • North Carolina Company/Independent Adjuster’s License - preferred

  • Certifications:  CRIS Certification, CCSMP Certification - preferred

  • Maintain CE hours for Adjuster’s License and Certifications as needed.

The employee may be subject to one or more of the following atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

Travel is required (approx. 10-20%) for Mediations, court appearances, claims reviews with carriers; etc.
