Position Summary



The Composite Operator fabricates and assembles composite parts in the following areas: Gerber, layup, infusion/injecting, curing, post-operations (bonding, deflash, trimming, drilling, sanding and painting) of composites. The technician performs all duties in compliance with MSP ME-001 to establish controls and responsibilities relative to maintaining a suitable environment for the fabrication of composite structures.

Proof of your vaccination status in the form of a CDC vaccine card must be submitted prior to your start date.
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Essential Responsibilities



All post operations composite operators are trained on specific program parts using the SWO to develop their competencies:

• Lays-out trim lines or cut to scribe lines
• Sands, files and paints as required
• Prepare parts for bonding, setting up and preparing bond fixture or bonding jig, and mixing bonding agents according to manufacturer's specifications.
• Prepares post-op oven for cure cycle and cure run.
• Sets up routers for close-tolerance cuts
• Safely operates appropriate machinery such as: buffers, routers, sanders and grinders.
• Drilling of close tolerance holes.
• Performs deflash and/or bonding operations as defined by the SWO.
• Assures that completed work complies with FAA regulations (if applicable), customer requirements and/or company specifications.
• Keep scrap materials at minimum levels; keep assigned areas clean and effective.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives with specific concentration on 5S.
• Commits to quality objectives and certifications.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety and environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• Essential Skills: Ability to read and understand detailed work orders, engineering process instructions and drawings.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Organization: Ability to be highly organized, detail oriented and able to respond to change quickly.
• Safety Related: Must be able to become certified to wear a respirator.
