Job Description:

Austin Bridge & Road is currently seeking a HR Generalist to be located at our corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas. The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring, onboarding, orientation, administering pay, benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers regarding the onboarding process.

• Processes new employee-owners, including pre-employment communications, requesting required equipment, orientation, paperwork, tours, and introductions.

• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

• Delivers new hire orientation weekly.

• Coordinates and delivers benefit training for employee-owners in the office, at jobsites and/or at offsite facilities.

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to data entry of new hires, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance; productivity, recognition, and morale.

• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.

• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

• Administers the On the Job Training (OJT) program for the company.

• Responds to unemployment claims on behalf of the company.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

• Five or more years of human resources experience required.

• HR experience in construction preferred.

• SHRM-CP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
