Job Description:

TransCore (TRN) is seeking a full-time Network Tech to join our team in Highspire, Pennsylvania.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Support a wide area network that includes: Cisco routers, switches, and Nokia microwave.




  • Monitor the operation of the customer’s network using Solarwinds.




  • Troubleshoot any outages and support the local technicians with configurations.




  • Backup the configurations of all network routers and switches on a regular basis.




  • Support a Cisco IP phone network.




  • Configure Cisco Router, Switches, and 4g routers.




  • Provide VLAN support across the system.




  • Support a growing Cisco IPICS radio interface system.




  • Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Cisco DNA Center, and SNMP are desired.



  • First shift schedule with shared on-call duties after training


Required Skills & Experience: 




  • 1-2 Years experience in monitoring and maintaining TCP/IP Networks




Desired Skills & Qualifications: 



  • CCNA or similar


Education: 




  • Required - High School Diploma or GED




Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Driving is a key requirement for this position.
