The Digital Specialist/Publications Specialist will be the online voice of the journal, formulating and executing a digital strategy for the publication. The role will interface with members and staff to support the goals of the organization and the journal, writing content to reach physicians, patients, journalists, and members of the care team. 


Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Set out a cohesive digital strategy, working with journal leaders to align with the publication’s goals and the ACR strategic plan.

  • Implement the digital strategy across JACR social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram, and emerging platforms.

  • Engage with audiences via community management, content development, audience analysis, and social listening.

  • Gather and report analytics, adjusting strategy as needed.

  • Facilitate, conduct, and archive monthly Tweet Chat.

  • Facilitate, conduct, and archive quarterly Journal Club hosted on Streamyard platform.

  • Manage special digital media projects for the journal, gathering information and suggesting tools and approaches based on journal goals.

  • Work with ACR Press stakeholders to establish communications and social media strategy for product, coordinating with internal marketing efforts. Partner with project managers to carry out and evaluate the strategy.

  • Stay up to date with latest technology and best practices


Requirements/Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Journalism or English) preferred

  • 3-7 years managing the digital presence for a product, organization, or (preferably) a publication

    • Marketing experience is welcomed although not mandatory



  • Experience in b2b publishing, medical publishing, or professional associations preferred

  • Experience across social media platforms

    • Experience across social media platforms, including TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram



  • Experience managing and updating website content

  • Intermediate design skills necessary to create visual content for social media
