Dental Lab Technician I (CB Model) at NDX, LLC in Wyoming, Michigan

Job Description:

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 60+ labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX-DSG Davis Dental Lab in Wyoming, Michigan for a Dental Lab Technician I (CB Model).




The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:



  • Read and interpret prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.

  • Confirm that all items needed are present and in suitable condition.

  • Pour positive models from impressions supplied by dentists

  • Trim models with bulk and or fine trimmer

  • Place models on appropriate type of articulator using correct technique (if applicable)

  • Articulate models by using bites sent by doctor or hand articulating to correct bite relationship.

  • Fabricate soft tissue models

  • Return items to proper pan

  • Scan and initial cases as required

  • Review final work and check completely that all quality standards have been met before passing the case to the next technician

  • Actively participate and share ideas for improvement that will positively shape the relationship the laboratory has with customers

  • Ensure the responsible use, safety and care of equipment. Ensure preventive maintenance requirements are met and that work area is kept clean.

  • Participate in Company sponsored training and meetings as required.

  • Support and incorporate NDX’s Mission, Vision and Core Values into daily endeavors.

  • All other duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities Required:



  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment.

  • Ability to meet assigned production levels, quality standards and timelines.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and depth perception.

  • Ability to pay close attention to details.

  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve using past experience and success to gauge the best steps on future cases.


Minimum Education and Experience Required:



  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • No experience required.


Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:



  • Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work tasks that require and follow safety guidelines as stated in NDX Safety & Health Plan Manual.

  • Utilize relevant materials, supplies and tools to produce product in the dental laboratory.


Physical Requirements:



  • Regularly required to walk, sit, stand and/or reach.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Manual dexterity which allows the individual to grasp and operate small hand tools/equipment and use their hands and fingers and to produce precision product is required.

  • Regularly required to push, pull, lift and/or carry 0-10 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
