IT Director - Manufacturing System at Cummins in Columbus, Indiana

Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic, talented IT Director, Manufacturing Systems to join our team specializing in systems information for our Cummins Corporate Business Segment headquartered in Columbus, Indiana. The role is designated hybrid and requires 20-30% overall travel (consisting of 80% domestic and 20% international).

In this role, the IT Director will make an impact in the following ways:


  • Lead a team of senior IT Employees

  • Participate as a key member of a senior level IT Management Team

  • Responsible for team financial management including AOP, budget management, and forecasting (end-to-end responsibilities)

  • Responsible for team building and development including organization structure, recruiting, global team management

  • Compile and present Management Reports on team performance including metrics, deliverable status

  • Ensure team adherence to all IT processes, policies, and procedures including IT Security

  • Responsible of IT Controls compliance for the entire IT Manufacturing Systems team

  • Works closely with business leaders and corporate functions to gain consensus and prioritize cross functional efforts

  • Leads and executes strategies to support compliance across multiple geographic/industry frameworks and regulations

  • Guided and developed the relationship to reconstitute capabilities and increase investment return

  • Leads the development of operational plans and monitors performance while maintaining budgetary oversight responsibilities

  • Coaches and motivates staff, provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs

Strategic Roadmap Planning: produces a high-level, multi-year product and capability roadmap utilizing internal and external business resource, asset and market knowledge and experience to communicate the organization's focus and priorities to internal and external stakeholders

Tech savvy: anticipating and adopting innovations in business-building digital and technology applications

IT Supplier Relationships: leverages a vendor management framework to manage strategic supplier relationships and supplier performance based on business need throughout the contract life using the required processes and tools to control costs, drive service excellence, mitigate risks, and gain increased value from the suppliers

Cultivates innovation: creating new and better ways for the organization to be successful

Education


  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree Information Technology, Business, or a related subject, required

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

  • 8-10 years cross business unit experience in a highly complex, matrix organization required

Experience


  • Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required

  • Significant  experience evaluating technology standards, tools/products, and solutions to make rational design decisions from both a business and technical perspective, required ​

  • Significant experience influencing architectural strategy, with an emphasis on deterministic, re-usable and scalable solutions​, required

  • Significant experience with various manufacturing execution systems experience; (SCADA, MES, MOM, IIoT), required

  • Significant  experience leading manufacturing business designs, business models, functions, processes, and job roles in manufacturing environments, as well as how they are impacted by digitization and emerging technologies/techniques​, required

  • Significant understanding of data analytics (e.g., AI, Cognitive Analytics, Machine Learning)​, required

  • Significant knowledge of Industry 4.0, digital transformation in Manufacturing​, required

  • Significant experience with industry standards, such as ANSI/ISA-95 and ANSI/ISA-88​, required

  • Significant experience with Agile Enterprise Architecture and Agile Methodologies​, required

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
