PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for generating e-commerce interest, sales and customer satisfaction through website knowledge and prompt courteous service. Serves as a source of information and sound advice on CAT E-Commerce initiatives. Follows up with customers on the e-commerce experience and maximizes service to customers to effectively utilize the platform and other e-business systems. This position is also responsible for knowing website setups and configurations. Also, responsible for diagnosing customer issues and interfaces as it relates to e-commerce website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Parts Sales Interpersonal


  • Receives orders by website
  • Initiates calls to customers to work with e-commerce orders and verify marketing information.
  • Promotes aggressive and suggestive selling by means of product knowledge, personal selling skills, over-the-counter contact, telemarketing, and direct mail.
  • Actively seeks additional sales opportunities.
  • Understands and promotes the Parts Exchange System. Promotes additional sales and service sales aggressively.
  • Ensures any customer "call-back" requests are completed to the customer's satisfaction.

Administrative


  • Processes customer orders the same day received, making certain that all documents necessary to the transaction are completed in an accurate manner.
  • Prepares sales orders, specifying the terms of sale and delivery. Complies with established company credit policies, including Cash on Delivery policies. Assists the Credit Department in the resolution of errors or problems with customer accounts.
  • Handles customer credits accurately and in accordance with Company policy, making sure that all pertinent information is included.
  • Records lost sales opportunities.
E-Commerce

  • Maintains the CAT Dealer Maintenance Tool (DMT) for configuration and setups of e-commerce customers.
  • Handles and follows up on Parts.CAT.Com (PCC) backorders.
  • Escalates PCC backorders as necessary.
  • Maintains the Sales basket in GPAX for e-commerce orders.
  • Maintains the e-commerce accounts within GPAX.
  • Sets up customers with a Universal Caterpillar Identification (UCID) for use with e-commerce.
  • Handles password resets for e-commerce customers.
  • Handles configuration requests in ERP system (GPAX).
  • Conducts DMT and PCC testing as needed to include the use of the Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Works with customers on use of the e-commerce platform.
  • Works with CAT and ERP/IT on e-commerce initiatives.
  • Reports using data analytics the use of the e-commerce platforms.

UNIQUE DEPT. DUTIES


  • Makes full use of the variety of information available, including SISWeb, Numerical Parts Record and other reference media.
  • Follows back-orders closely to ensure prompt delivery upon receipt. Notifies customer upon receipt of back-ordered items. Works directly with CAT order analyst to expedite back-ordered parts.
  • Reports machinery sales leads and competitive machine activities to the Sales Department.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:

Education:

High school graduate with four years related work experience, including six months of sales and /or mechanical experience.

Physical:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb and lift.

Able to routinely lift and carry short distance parts up to 135 pounds without aid or assistance.

Able to see and hear in order to operate warehouse equipment (i.e. forklifts, sweepers, hose assembly, etc.)

Other:

Must be "keyboard" literate to adequately utilize the mainframe system
