Better requires process discipline and simplification
We'll be looking to you to be a key member of the team by investigating high risk and complex cases related to suspicious activities on money laundering and other risks related to Western Union. It will be your responsibility for analyzing and investigating Western Union activity surfaced by monitoring reports or external referral sources that exhibit anomalous patterns requiring further explanation. You will also be responsible for reviewing initial referrals and escalations, providing accurate analysis and documentation of suspicious activity, formulating Suspicious Activity Reports that will be sent to the governments in multiple jurisdictions and recommending appropriate risk-based business actions to be taken concerning Agent and consumer relationships.
For such a pivotal role, we expect you to recognize new/emerging patterns/typologies and respond with appropriate investigative techniques based on applied knowledge and a wide range of research/investigative techniques and may provide training and guidance to staff. The complexity of the data means you will need to be analytically minded, be a good problem solver and have an investigative mindset and - be comfortable with complex issues. You will interface with internal and external parties; Western Union Agents, Customers/Consumers, Western Union Sales Organization, General Counsel's Office, and Global Security, dealing with internal stakeholders and external contacts across cultural and legal boundaries and be an effective and credible advocate for the work of the Financial Intelligence Unit. Naturally you'll possess a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, independent and sound judgment, and professionalism, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access) including the use of pivot tables. Education or equivalent experience is required, with at least two years of relevant experience in complex retail/consumer financial services/payment services organizations with multiple financial products, or a regulatory agency or law firm involving payment services compliance issues relating to anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and related laws and regulations.

The annual gross base salary range is $63,000.45-104,650.38. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies.
