The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Senior Multimedia Producer in the Digital Department at the ACLU's National office in New York, NY.
The ACLU's Digital team focuses on growing our existing audiences and acquiring new audiences by using digital channels to reach and inspire them to take action. We create rich and compelling written, multimedia, and graphic design content that are used in key email, texting, social, merchandise, and paid media programs that help raise money, get our message out into the world, and mobilize existing and new supporters.
Reporting to the Multimedia Director, the Senior Multimedia Producer will work closely with staff across the Digital Department, the Legal Department, the Communications Department and the organization to achieve the ACLU's goals. In this role, you will assist with video production, filming, editing, coordinate with on-location photographers and videographers, assist on photo and video shoots, coordinate with external media outlets and publishers, and assist with production of the ACLU podcast.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with video production and edits on long and short-form videos produced in-house
Assist with photography and video shoots across the country
Draft or edit scripts for short explainer videos, sketches, etc.
Provide edit feedback for explainer videos, documentaries, sketches, etc.
Assist with production of the ACLU's podcast including coordinating with guests, recording, publishing, supplying notes to edits
Pitch to and coordinate with media outlets and publishing platforms to extend the reach of the ACLU's multimedia content
Assist with contracting, budgeting and expense tracking
Log, archive, and manage video and photography assets
Track video metrics across social platforms
Optimize video and photo content for social platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Collaborate with Digital and program staff to identify high-impact opportunities to increase the visibility of our advocacy, programmatic and legislative work
Monitor video trends, and emerging practices. Make recommendations for new content opportunities for adoption by ACLU
Work as part of a multi-departmental and multi-disciplinary team that includes digital communications, online campaigners, web production, attorneys and lobbyists
Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated professional experience with multimedia production
Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal communications skills; strong attention to detail, ability to write and deliver work product under deadlines, and commitment to high quality standards
Experience handling and organizing multiple video and audio formats
Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines
Self-motivated, demonstrate grace under pressure and possess the ability to work well both independently as well as within a team
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years of experience in video and/or podcast production is preferred
Experience using DSLR and professional video cameras
Audio and video recording and editing experience
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
COMPENSATION
The annual salary for this position is $110,206 (Level G). This salary is reflective of a position based in New York, NY. This salary will be subject to a locality adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting. Note that most of the salaries listed on our job postings reflect New York, NY salaries, where our National offices are headquartered.
