Description:
The JUDGE Group has partnered with one of California's leading Financial Services Providers to find a Portfolio Manager for their Enterprise Project Management office, based at their corporate headquarter office in the Sacramento area. This is a full time, direct hire position that includes great salary, full benefits, annual bonus, and offers a hybrid/remote option.



GENERAL DESCRIPTION:



The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) Portfolio Manager is accountable for the delivery, monitoring, and execution of projects within the scope of assigned portfolio. This position oversees the management of the portfolio by applying project and portfolio management practices established by the EPMO that align to Company's strategic goals. Projects within the portfolio are managed and led by Project Managers with support from Portfolio Managers focused on stakeholder management, risk management, and resource management. Portfolio Managers closely align with Portfolio Sponsors to ensure goals and objectives of each project under the respective portfolio are met.


This position is also responsible for project management which includes overall direction, implementation, execution, control, and project management of enterprise-wide and technology projects, including the research and development of new concepts, ideas and applications ensuring consistency with Company's strategy, commitments, and goals.



WHAT YOU WILL DO:





  • Responsible for managing a project portfolio requiring ongoing intake, prioritization, status, reporting, escalation, and Portfolio Sponsor stakeholder management.

  • Maintain a roadmap of in-flight and planned project initiatives to identify potential dependencies, gaps, and inadequacies in organizational capabilities (e.g., resources, skillsets, funding, etc.).

  • Oversee and lead the project intake for assigned portfolio in collaboration with Portfolio Sponsor following the established EPMO intake governance model.

  • Effectively and timely communicate portfolio expectations to applicable stakeholders including keeping senior management informed on progress, risks, and issues.

  • Develop and deliver portfolio progress reports and portfolio documentation (i.e., executive presentations, committee(s) requests, escalations, etc.)

  • Continuously evaluate projects in the portfolio to ensure they are adhering to budgets, schedules and meeting organizational requirements and strategic objectives.

  • Estimate portfolio and project resource demands and support Project Managers with resource management (demand and capacity) to achieve project, portfolio, and strategic goals.

  • Assist Project Managers in identifying risks and issues and serve as escalation resource to resolve items along with Portfolio Sponsor and EPMO management.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of internal and external project and portfolio management practices and frameworks while adhering to EPMO program, processes, and techniques.

  • Support and monitor project, product or services outcomes using lessons learned, look backs, business plans, success metrics, etc. to ensure project/product delivery met Company's strategic goals.

  • Support the portfolio by managing reasonably sized projects through the entire project cycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitor and control, and close). Provide coverage support to Project Managers when they are absent from their projects

  • Support project managers by motivating project team members and vendors and influence them to take accountability and positive action for their assigned work. Provide focus and direction to team members to reach targets and deadlines.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to Company's compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.

  • Assist department leadership as needed and performs other related duties as assigned.




WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:





  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems or Computer Science is strongly preferred.

  • Advanced Degree in Business Administration or other related area is preferred.

  • 8+ years of combined experience in project portfolio management, project analysis, coordination, and management.

  • 5+ years of experience directly managing projects. Experience managing moderate to complex projects end-to-end required.

  • Domain experience in technology, digital, retail, and operations in financial institution is preferred.

  • Knowledge of financial products and services, especially as it relates to various delivery channels preferred.

  • Knowledge of existing Company's products, services, and overall operational guidelines.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to interact with senior leaders, members, Company's staff and management, negotiate vendor agreements, manage third party vendor relationships and lead project teams.

  • Strong knowledge of business analytical practices and methodologies and process improvement methodologies, e.g., Lean or Six Sigma a plus.

  • Strong research, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Customer-focused attitude and ability to work proactively and efficiently.

  • Supportive of all decisions, choices, goals, and objectives as determined by EPMO leadership and Executive leadership.

  • Proven ability to evaluate key business objectives and develop appropriate action plans.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially MS Project, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

  • Ability to use logical reasoning when making objective observations, examinations, evaluations, and recommendations.

  • Familiarity with common contractual language and contract negotiation




LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:





  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or (PfMP) certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI) are preferred.
