Thales is currently looking for a Sr. Sales Engineer to join Thales working REMOTELY located on the West Coast, United States. 

The Sr. Sales Engineer will provide expert product and technical knowledge For Our DATA PROTECTION group to assist the direct sales team with understanding a potential or current customers business and technical need for data protection, their systems and architecture demands and then be able to translate that into an innovative and creative data protection solution built around Thales’s market-leading products.

This role requires both technical and sales skills to be able to understand customer needs/requirements in order to assist in the qualification of sales opportunities.   The Sr. Sales Engineer is a trusted advisor to support customers and prospects on how to effectively utilize the Thales solutions.  

Requirements:

• 5+ year’s Technical Pre-Sales working experience for an enterprise software, networking or security company


• Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering) or equivalent experience


• Proven track record and demonstrable skills at presenting technical information at the business executive level or at the architect level


• Ability to position, discuss and counter solution validation, using objection-handling skills.


• Networking (Routing and Switching, VPN, NG Firewall, WLAN, Network Design, Software Defined Networks, etc.)


• Proficient with and understanding the foundation concepts of cryptography


• Security (Encryption, Key Management, PKI, Digital Certificates etc.)


• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills


• High aptitude for creative problem solving


• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time spent on each customer


• Attention to detail

Preferred:

• Enterprise Databases/BigData (Oracle, SQL server, MongoDB, Teradata, Hadoop, Cloudera etc.)


• Storage systems (SAN, NAS)


• Strong cloud experience in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS


• Development skills in C/C++, Java, etc.


• Experience implementing microservices and container-based solutions


• Knowledge of Risk Management concepts and Global Data Regulations.


• CISSP, CCSP, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, and Cloud Architecture certifications
