Position Summary
Manage local dispatch operations for Home Delivery routing Contractors in specific marketplaces. Assigns routes, addresses customer issues and books deliveries as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Highlight, stamp, separate, and sort all Delivery Tickets and Service Orders
Route, time frame, and assign all delivery tickets and service orders for next day's routes, to make it as efficient and profitable as possible for the drivers
Once routes are put together ensure that there all orders are dispatched for following day
Work with local warehouse to ensure that Reverse Logistics orders are being picked up and returned to the store
Check all Independent Contractor Documents and Licensing as needed
Hand out current days routes to Independent Contractors
Deal with Independent Contractor customer/site issues as they arise
Deal with any customer, driver, or route issues as the day progresses
Initiate and maintain good relations with independent contractors
Track Independent contractors as need throughout the day to ensure day's deliveries are on schedule and seek resolution when needed
Enter notes and additional information for Independent Contractors into DMS
Assist in auditing previous day's paperwork as needed
Help ensure that vehicles and trailers are well-maintained, compliant with all DOT/CSA regulations
Assist local Operations with any aspect of local operations
Other duties as assigned or apparent
Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Must have a minimum of two years' experience in customer service, transportation industry, or related field. Experience in Home Delivery or Last Mile preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Operates with a customer service mentality. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience. Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to successfully complete all safety, skills, customer service, and supervisor training as required by the company. Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write English in order to understand and give directions, and to complete paperwork accurately. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment as dictated by the duties of the job and perform data entry and typing functions.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment. Requires sitting, walking, and standing. Work performed requires the use of hands to control or feel objects and will utilize repetitive movements when entering data. Requires the use of clear speech communicated to others and understanding the speech of another person. Requires the ability to see details of objects within close range.
