Position Title: Off Net Solutions (ONS) Dark Fiber Contracts Intern

Role


This person is responsible for assisting with research, administration, data entry and management of contracts and system records, focused on but not limited to 3rd party Dark Fiber contracts, orders and supporting documents.  As part of the Off Net Solutions (ONS) Team, the role requires interaction with 3rd party telecommunications providers as well as with internal Crown Castle team members and attorneys, in person, by phone, video, and email. 


Suitable candidates will have an interest in learning the commercial, contractual aspects of the procurement and activation of optical fiber-based telecommunications services from 3rd parties, and in applying this knowledge to conduct research for incomplete or missing information.  This person will have an aptitude for reading technical service contracts, extracting material terms and conditions, learning, and using a variety of online records systems, performing accurate data entry and correction resulting from the ongoing research efforts, summarizing original deal points, pertinent interdependencies of associated addendums, amendments, and SOWs for future negotiations, additions, renewals, or replacements as appropriate.  While Off Net Solutions (ONS) leadership will be always available for training, guidance and overall support, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently.


Responsibilities



  • Review existing records for missing or expired data

  • Obtain missing contracts, data, and associated documents – internal and external

  • Extract key contract/agreement terms and summarize in templates and/or systems

  • Enter Data into multiple systems to correct missing and/or incomplete records

  • Run reports and help prioritize work with ONS management

  • Follow standards and procedures when working within company systems

  • Execute quality checks on the data to ensure asset integrity and resolve data conflicts to maintain compliance

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required


Expectations 



  • Read telecommunications service contracts and extract key terms

  • Demonstrate the aptitude to comprehend the basic technical aspects of fiber optic communications systems, and how these are represented in associated legal contracts

  • Perform accurate and fast data entry based on extracting key details of technical contracts.  

  • Work independently as well as build cooperative working relationships

  • Excel at chasing down elusive documents and details

  • Preserve and respect confidentiality of data and contractual terms

  • Work competently and accurately with various online computer systems and demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio).

  • Be proficient managing network files and folders (naming, renaming, moving, copying, archiving, etc.)


Education/Certifications  



  • Currently enrolled in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution

  • Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science; Information Technology; Law (or Pre-Law); Engineering (all disciplines)


 


Experience/Minimum Requirements  



  • Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship




Reports to: Manager, Carrier Relations


Work Plans:   This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week).
