This role works with a team to create daily transportation plans for all Best Buy’s internal shipments to stores prior to operation, starting at 2:00am CST. Ability to work weekends and holidays would also be expected. This role requires working 5 days a week with a 6th day as a weekend rotation. During peak season, this individual is required to work a full weekend (total 7 days) schedule. The Analyst will be relied upon as a technical and subject matter expert operating JDA TMS for planning. This role will utilize previous transportation industry and system standards to improve the network, liaise with Warehouse and Retail Teams, and work cross-functionally with other Best Buy Teams.

This candidate will need to be extremely reliable by being on-time for their scheduled workdays. The work of the Central Planning Transportation Analyst will be the foundation of an entire network of warehousing and transportation operations for the day, so reliability and effective work is a must. In addition, this candidate should possess a solid understanding of Transportation Systems, data structures, and be detail oriented. They will communicate effectively to a wide audience with varying technical backgrounds. The Analyst will be responsible for prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment and should have strong organizational skills. We’d expect the candidate to be a problem solver, detail oriented, and a critical thinker.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Supports TMS team efforts by performing system administration, triaging of issues, issue resolution, and functions as a liaison between the business operations teams and the technical systems support team.

  • Be the lead for Distribution Operational business units such as RDC and DDC (scope may increase)

  • Lead work with cross-functional teams to support operational efforts to leverage TMS to drive benefits.

  • Help drive Central Planning projects, enhancements, and fixes with our DAT partners.

  • Daily network modeling with existing load plans to find additional efficiencies.

  • Follows appropriate escalation processes to resolve critical business dependent system outages quickly and effectively.

  • Ability to efficiently resolve Distribution and Field escalations that may arise.

  • Ideation of future road map solutions with leaders

  • Uses knowledge and insights to improve operational processes and practices. Identifies potential issues and implications to the business; creates new solutions.

  • Provide control and visibility to Supply Chain leaders through reporting solutions and/or a leadership dashboard.

  • Indirectly leads or supervises individual(s) (e.g., only provides daily work direction, scheduling of tasks, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in Transportation/Logistics or Supply Chain

  • 3+ years of systems and database experience and/or systems support (TMS)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Performed data analysis using various tools such as Excel (Intermediate Excel Skills)

  • Understanding of Retail industry and Retail supply chain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years with Central Planning (Routing) Experience

  • Knowledge of SQL
