Preventative Maintenance Technician Core Responsibilities

• Creates, maintains, communicates and follows preventive maintenance schedules for equipment at assigned facilities


• Uses hand tools and power tools to install, set up, troubleshoot, maintain and repair production equipment, material handling equipment and building systems


• Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment


• Performs scheduled maintenance of production equipment


• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service


• Complies with applicable environmental and safety laws, regulations and policies

Preventative Maintenance Technician Job Qualifications

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 
•    Must be able to perform basic shop mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
•    Must be able to correctly measure and record dimensions of equipment and parts.
•    Must be able to completely and correctly sketch custom parts and tools.  
•    Must be able to use powered and non-powered hand tools.
•    Must be able to read and write memos, emails and correspondence.
•    Must be able to enter, edit, read and interpret maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedules.
•    Valid Class C Drivers License or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•    Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
•    Must be able to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours.
•    Must be able to work in a sitting, kneeling or crouching position continuously for up to     2 hours. 
•    Must be able to use non-powered tools to tighten or loosen fasteners.
•    Must be able to climb, descend and stand on ladders and stairs.
