Civil, Environmental, Water-Wastewater, Structural, Transportation, Construction, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering Grads: The successful candidate for this position will provide engineering support for the water/wastewater group. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal water/wastewater projects involving collection and conveyance systems, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, and rehabilitation. This position is part of a team that specializes in the engineering of public water systems to upgrade aging infrastructure, provide sustainable solutions, and offer innovative approaches to help preserve safe and reliable water delivery.

Your Role:


  • Conduct research related to engineering policies and practices,
  • Conduct calculations to support planning and design objectives, including hydrologic and/or hydraulic analysts,
  • Prepare engineering reports,
  • Develop or prepare descriptive charts, figures/maps, and tables/matrices,
  • Support design analysis through the application of quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques,
  • Prepare and draft construction documents (plans and specifications),
  • Support cost-benefit analysis,
  • Perform field work or construction observation,
  • Perform writing assignments to contribute to project documentation and deliverables such as memos and reports,
  • Assist with quality control and assurance; and
  • Prepare permit applications and support materials.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or a related field),
  • 0-2 years of relevant civil engineering experience, EIT Certification
  • Demonstrated educational and relevant work experience showing strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills,
  • Related site/civil or municipal experience is highly desired,
  • Familiarity with elements of the design-bid-build process including engineering analysis, permitting, development of construction, documents (plans and specifications), cost estimating, and construction administration and observation,
  • Has ability to lead engineering designs independently and work with others for support,
  • Experience with AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred),
  • Knowledge with Hydrologic and Hydraulic design software programs (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, etc.); and
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Structural: Tetra Tech is currently seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to help with challenging projects of various construction types in a wide range of industry sectors. Projects will vary in the locality from local and regional work to overseas, providing unique engineering experiences. Project types will include municipal, industrial, commercial, government, forensic, renovation work on historic structures, and civil works (spillways, floodwalls, and gate structures).

Your Role:


  • Structural engineering design for a multitude of projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.
  • Delivering quality work on time and within budget.
  • Working with a team of Structural Engineers and Designers for larger projects.
  • Writing structural investigation and design reports.
  • Defining the structural system by modeling in Revit.
  • Designing to local and State Codes, as well as Federal Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) guidelines.
  • Utilizing advanced structural engineering software tools.
  • Preparing calculation packages.
  • Participating in Construction Administration activities when required by the project.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • 0-2 years of related experience as a Structural Engineer
  • Knowledgeable in the design of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, aluminum, and wood.
  • Experience with designing structures located in geographical areas prone to hurricanes and high seismicity is a plus.
  • Must be willing to learn and use Revit, if not already known, for 3D BIM production.
  • Proficient with structural engineering analysis and design software such as RISA 3D.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Well organized and able to work independently on assignments.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment on projects ranging from studies to detailed design.

Transportation: We are actively looking for Transportation Engineers to join our team working in the road, bridge, and traffic design.

Your Role:


  • Road and bridge design
  • Prepare contractual plan drawings and documents
  • Use of programs such as Microstation, AutoCAD, and Excel
  • Design and coordination with different roadway disciplines, such as drainage, staging, pavement markings, signing, and traffic signals
  • Visit project sites and assist with surveying and inspection services
  • Interact with team members across different disciplines and offices

Qualifications:


  • 0-2 years of related experience in Transportation Engineering
  • Experience with applicable computer software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Geopak, OpenRoads, Civil 3D or Synchro, HCS, Vissim, SignCAD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven success in delivering high-quality projects
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, with a favorable driver's record

Construction: Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Construction Engineer to support our Water Infrastructure group. The ideal candidate will primarily support municipal construction projects and support a construction management team primarily focused on wastewater collection systems, pumping stations, and water distribution system projects.

Your Role:


  • Excellent communication with the construction management team, contractors, and owner to update them on construction activities and coordinate activities to ensure service is not disrupted.

  • Oversee all construction activities by various contractors to ensure they have a plan, stay on schedule, don't impact residents beyond planned shut downs, and comply with client standards for safety.
  • Ability to manage construction contracts of varying size and complexity
  • Run progress meetings, issue agenda and meeting minutes
  • Proactively review progress and work with a contractor to recover schedule or correct deficient work
  • Proactively resolves problems on the job site

  • Provide leadership to inspectors and guidance on identifying issues and resolving problems
  • Review submittals and shop drawings
  • Review change proposals and work to minimize the impact on the client
  • Coordinate testing, sampling, and start-up on applicable projects
  • Ensure permitting requirements are met

  • Perform construction observation fieldwork
  • Perform pre-construction services including constructability reviews at various stages of design
  • Must have the ability to work under conditions that allow for changing priorities and be able to multi-task

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • 0-2 years of CM or related experience,
  • Ability to analyze and understand plans, contracts, special provisions, standards & specifications

  • Proficiency with scheduling software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Construction Management and Field experience relating to water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater collection and conveyance/pumping systems, consent decree programs, and water distribution systems preferred
  • Must exercise independent judgment and work to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to timely communicate project issues to the various project participants

Mechanical: The successful candidate must possess the skills required to successfully handle multiple simultaneous complex tasks, execute project tasks, have a strong work ethic and drive to deliver for customers, and be a collaborative team player. This person will work closely with project managers and mechanical engineering staff to assist with the development of design documents including engineering reports, calculations and analysis, drawings, specifications, and the engineer's opinion of probable construction costs. This person should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal and external clients.

Your Role:


  • Perform HVAC load calculations, hydronic and fan pressure loss calculations, and ventilation calculations in conformance with applicable codes and energy efficiency standards.
  • Completing energy compliance evaluations for buildings utilizing COMcheck or similar software.
  • Develop contract specifications using MasterSpec & SpecText.
  • Sizing equipment and developing layouts for airside and hydronic systems.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines as well as other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
  • Design plumbing systems and/or performance-based fire protection systems.
  • Preparing construction documents including drafting utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Development of control systems, protocols, interfaces, and applying concepts to construction documents.
  • Utilizing RS Means and working with equipment vendors to develop an engineer's opinion of probable costs.
  • Performing construction assistance in the form of responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, performing construction site field observation reports, and preparing punch lists during various stages of construction.

Qualifications:


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • MEP industry experience preferred
  • Familiarity with building codes, ASHRAE standards/handbooks, NFPA codes, and SMACNA standards preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined team environment
  • Excellent communications skills and a positive can-do attitude
  • LEED and/or CDT certification is desired but not required.

Electrical: The successful candidate for the Electrical Engineering EIT position will work under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer and will perform electrical design for a variety of projects.

Your Role:


  • Performing electrical power design for a variety of projects;
  • Preparing, reviewing, or modifying one-line diagrams, elevation diagrams, electrical floor plans, schedules, and detail sheets;
  • Incorporating design changes using AutoCAD and/or Revit;
  • Coordinating electrical equipment lists with mechanical and civil disciplines;
  • Performing service load calculations, power systems analysis, and lighting design calculations;
  • Meeting project schedules and performing work within budgetary constraints;
  • Assisting in the preparation of status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, project manuals, responses to client comments, technical memoranda, and other project-related documentation;
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • 0-2 years of experience in electrical engineering and consulting;
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, from an ABET-accredited program
  • Water / Wastewater experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills;
  • Basic understanding of NEC;
  • Proficient with the use of AutoCAD and Revit
